Good Ole Rocky Top! What a fun and sweet baby quilt! (Or lap quilt for cold Tennessee games!)
Inspired by Tennessee’s penchant for orange and white checkerboard, we created an orange and white checkerboard featuring Denyse Schmidt’s Oranges from her Eastham Collection, some miscellaneous oranges we have in our stash, and Kona White.
We Ditch Stitched and then quilted ½” from each side of the ditch to create an additional checkerboard within the checkerboard.
The backing is Mandarin Squared Elements by Art Gallery Fabrics and it is WONDERFUL! So easy to work with and it’s nice and soft and lightweight – even more so after being quilted. It was a dream to work with – we will definitely try to stock up on this one for future quilt backs.
This adorable baby/toddler quilt is now listed in our shop.
The quilt’s size is perfect for a newborn to practice tummy time while mom and dad watch the game. And eventually the baby will grow into this sweet quilt and be able to carry it around and snuggle with it! It will make a very special baby gift.
