Hi! Do you happen to have a friend or loved one who is really hard to shop for? Well, I think we have found the perfect gift! Beautiful reversible, reusable grocery bags! These bags are a deviation from our usual quilt posts, but sometimes we like sew up non-quilty items!
I have been meaning to create a quilt with the beautiful Ardently Austen collection by Riley Blake Designs. This fabric is GORGEOUS! It’s bright, cheerful, and full of fun teapots, flowers and geometric designs. And even better, it’s inspired by my most favorite author – Jane Austen.
But time has gotten away from me, and with our hectic schedule and quilt orders, I only had a little down time to whip up these nifty reversible grocery bags.
Since I had half yards of the collection on hand, I needed a pattern that wouldn’t waste my fabric. So I found an easy and fun no waste grocery bad pattern in Virginia Lindsay’s book “Sewing to Sell.” (Fun, inspiring book, by the way!)
The fabrics coordinate beautifully and they have a luxurious feel (as all Riley Blake fabrics do!).
I made 7 grocery bags and the full set is available for sale in our shop. 7 is the perfect number of bags. They’re easy to fold, they are washable, and BONUS: you don’t have to deal with icky plastic grocery bags!
So snatch these bags up soon – only one set is available in our shop!
Sewing up these bags was a nice break to quilting, but it’s back to quilt work for us! We are working on a couple custom quilt orders that we can’t wait to show you.
But I think I might need to find another fat quarter bundle of this beautiful fabric collection and make a quilt with it…
See you later!
