Did you know you can use 2 nifty tools in Electric Quilt 8 to transform your quilt design with ease? We’d like to introduce you to: Serendipity + Symmetry. With a couple of clicks of your mouse, you can transform a simple quilt design into lots of amazing project ideas!

Step 1: Design a quilt from scratch.

Step 2: Click Design
Step 3: Click Block Tools

Step 4: Click Set Block

Step 5: There are 2 ways to Add a Plain Block
Option A: Click on the 3 dots and Click Add Plain Block

Or Option B: Right-click in block menu and click Add Plain Block

Step 6: With the plain block selected, right-click and click Edit Block.

Step 7: Now you’re in the block worktable; click on Block
Step 8: Select Serendipity
Step 9: Click Frame Block

Step 10: Scroll Right Toolbar Until Plain Block is Highlighted in Blue.

Step 11: Scroll Left Bar and Highlight “Logs + 1/4 Size” and Add to Sketchbook; Click Close

Step 12: Click Quilt Worktable

Step 13: Under Layout Tab, Select Horizontal
Step 14: Change to 13 x 16 number of Blocks
Step 15: Finished Size of Blocks 4 x 4

Step 16: Click Design
Step 17: Set Block
Step 18: Highlight Block We Just Made

Step 19: Hover Mouse over block; hold control key and click in space to fill all blocks in the quilt.

Step 20: Go to Sketchbook Blocks and click Symmetry.

Step 21: Hover Mouse over Quilt Design + Click 2 Times to get Lottie’s Squares Layout

Add this design to your sketchbook and then use the color and fabric panels to color your quilt to your preference.
