Yay yay yay – we LOVE how this quilt turned out! Purple, yellow and gray bricks and mortar with little tigers throughout – how can you go wrong??
Well. It seems you can.
We started this project back in FEBRUARY and even had a finished quilt when we had the disastrous color bleed (see our LSU quilt top post).
Thankfully we shook off the setback and persevered.
Didn’t this quilt turn out to be wonderful?? It’s just such a happy quilt! We enjoyed every part of putting this one together – from re-cutting, to re-piecing to re-quilting.
The Quilt’s dimensions: 42” x 49”
Each brick with its mortar are 3” x 7” – 112 bricks in total.
This quilt features a wide range of purple and yellows from:
Cotton + Steel, Denyse Schmidt, Blueberry Park, Abacus, Penny Arcade, Calico, Crosshatch in Gray and various other purples and yellows we found on Stash Fabrics online store with a lot of help from their design wall feature.
The gray mortar and binding is Robert Kaufman Kona Silver.
The back is Cotton + Steel’s Tiger Stripes in Grey Black and White.
We quilted this with simple straight vertical lines. We began with simple ditch-stitching and then quilted ½” from each side. The quilting along with the soft tiger back makes this quilt extra cuddly.
You don’t have to be an LSU fan to enjoy this quilt! We have listed this quilt in our shop – it will be so sweet in a nursery!
Thanks for stopping by our blog – coming soon, a Kentucky scattered squares top and a Big Announcement for our shop!
