We love gingham so much. It’s classic – it’s vintage – it’s pretty. You can’t go wrong putting a little gingham into your quilt. So we decided to make a gingham patterned quilt with 4” blocks made out of: Gingham!
Honestly, any college colors will work with this pattern, but football season is starting and Georgia fans surround us, so it seemed logical to pick UGA’s colors.
We almost chose Cotton + Steel’s new gingham collection but changed our minds and went with Riley Blake’s small gingham pattern. We thought the smaller pattern would better serve in what we were trying to accomplish.
We do have our eyes on that Cotton + Steel gingham collection though! It’s just a matter of time before we add that awesome collection to our stash….
But back to the quilt at hand. Isn’t it adorable?? The Gingham really pops against the bright Kona White. Honestly, we need to just buy a whole bolt of Kona White – it’s in almost every quilt we make!
We had a lot of fun putting this one together and gaining confidence in our rotary cutting skills. Now it’s time to baste, quilt and bind.
Hope you’re having a great Sunday! Stay tuned for a finished Florida Orange and Blue patchwork baby quilt – it’s turning out to be so cute!
